Xanthe Matychak is a designer and educator and business and technology mentor. She created a Maker Lab (formerly "Make Better Stuff") for ENVS and piloted it in the spring of 2016. In Maker Lab, Xanthe and her students explore the phenomenon of "DIY meets Digital" through a series of hands-on projects. In addition to teaching in ENVS, Xanthe's helps run the Hardware Accelerator at Rev Ithaca and serves as a mentor in NYSERDA's 76West Clean Energy Competition and sits on the Advisory Board at Free Science Workshop.
In recent years Xanthe has participated in meetings at The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy that were focused on the future of Ameican Manufacturing and Innovation. She has shared her work at World Makerfaire in NYC, SxSW Interactive, DigiFabCon at MIT, and other academic conferences. This past summer Xanthe helped lead a technology program at SABIC Academy in Riyadh. She holds an MFA in Industrial Design from RIT.
