Steve TenEyck serves as the Dean for the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance (MTD). Before becoming Dean, Steve was the Associate Dean for MTD, Chair and Associate Chair of the Department of Theatre Arts, and taught lighting design in the BFA in Theatre Production and Design program at Ithaca College.
Before moving fully into administration, Steve maintained an active freelance design career. His work includes designs for The Dallas Theater Center (Dallas, TX), The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis (St. Louis, MO), The Gulfshore Playhouse (Naples, FL), Orlando Shakespeare Theatre (Orlando, FL), Syracuse Stage (Syracuse, NY), Tri-Cities Opera (Binghamton, NY), Syracuse Opera (Syracuse, NY), Tacoma Opera (Tacoma, WA), Minnesota Opera (Minneapolis, MN), Florida Grand Opera (Miami, FL), Mill City Summer Opera (Minneapolis, MN), Anchorage Opera (Anchorage, AK), Madison Opera (Madison, WI), Merry Go Round Playhouse (Auburn, NY), Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival (Center Valley, PA), Kitchen Theatre (Ithaca, NY), The Hangar Theatre (Ithaca, NY), Pacific Performance Project (Seattle, WA), Big Art Group (New York City), The Actors Company Theatre (New York City), Santa Barbara Dance Theatre (Santa Barbara, CA), and Ensemble Theatre Company (Santa Barbara, CA).
Steve has also worked on live events for CS Production Services (Ithaca, NY), BSI Productions (Ithaca, NY), Affinity Group Ltd. (Ithaca, NY), and The Herson Group LTD. (Penn Yan, NY), with clients such as Princeton University, Northwestern University, Cornell University, Texas A&M, University of Tennessee, Amherst College, The Lawrenceville School, Binghamton University, and The College at Brockport. His projects in architectural lighting for Gallegos Architectural Lighting Design (San Francisco Bay Area & Los Angeles, CA) include Lego Retail Stores in Anaheim and Chicago, San Diego Zoo Stores, Mississippi River Discovery Center, Warner Brother Movie World in Spain, and several high-end residential projects.
Steve received his B.A. from the University of California at Santa Barbara and his M.F.A. from the University of Washington School of Drama. He is a member of United Scenic Artists local 829.
