Greetings and welcome to my faculty page. I've been teaching at Ithaca College in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology since 2010 after completing my doctorate in sunny San Diego. Prior to teaching, I worked as a speech-language pathologist at a private practice with clients ranging in age from 1 to 80, and at a school designed for children on the autism spectrum. In my clinical practice, I learned firsthand what Dr. Charles Van Riper, renowned pioneer in the field of speech-langauge pathology, observed over 50 years ago: “It is not enough to know the kind of disorder a person has, one must know the kind of person who has a disorder.”
I enjoy Thai food, playing the banjo, and rainy days. And sometimes all three at once.
