Nancy Ramage writing about pottery in Sardis

Nancy Ramage

Dana Professor Emerita, Art History
Specialty: Greek, Etruscan, and Roman Art; Reception of Classical Art; History of Collecting

Continuing my professional life in retirement

I continue to write, give lectures, and work on the Harvard-Cornell archaeological excavations in Sardis, Turkey; in fact, a book I worked on for years, written with my husband, Andrew Ramage, and a Turkish colleague, has just been published.

I am fortunate to stay in touch with many of my students, and I am still actively engaged in the work I was doing as a professor at Ithaca College. Teaching has been one of my greatest privileges, and through the lecturing and writing I am doing now, I feel that I am sharing some of that love with listeners and readers. I am also teaching art history to all six of my granddaughters, which gives me (and them) great pleasure.
