About Me
Mark Addona joined the Strategic Communications department in Fall 2020, teaching Advertising Copywriting & Art Direction and Brand Design & Communications in the Advertising, Public Relations, and Marking Communications (formerly IMC) major.
Mark has worked in the advertising industry for over 15 years, winning over 40 ADDY awards along the way. He has had the opportunity to work with national brands such as Nike, Red bull, Volvo and AARP and has mentored students to numerous local, regional and national ADDY awards as well as Young Ones and Red Dot Awards.
Prior to joining Ithaca College, Mark has been teaching for the previous five years at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in the advertising and branding department. He taught a range of courses in production, art direction, branding, web design, graphic design, emerging technology, and typography and had the opportunity to collaborate on a number of industry and student collaborations, ranging from 48-hour challenges up to full 10-week projects.
Mark received his BFA in Computer Graphics from Syracuse University and later completed his MFA in Graphic Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
