Jill Mayer, PT, DPT,NCS is an Ithaca College physical therapy alumna who is originally from Buffalo, NY. Her clinical experience lies in the area of neurological rehabilitation. Upon graduating from Ithaca College, Jill worked in the inpatient rehab setting at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange, NJ. There, she treated patients with stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury and other neurological diagnoses. She also holds experience in the sub-acute rehabilitation setting and is a board certified clinical specialist in neurologic physical therapy. Jill maintains clinical practice at the Ithaca College Occupational and Physical Therapy clinic, working in collaboration with physical therapy students treating community members with neurologic diagnoses. She also practices part-time in the acute care setting at Cayuga Medical Center.
Courses Jill has taught include: Neurologic Rehabilitation I and II labs, Teaching and Learning in the Clinical Setting, Mobility Training, Psycho-social Aspects of Patient Care, Clinical Grand Rounds and Documentation. She has served as a lab instructor in the summer Human Anatomy Course as well as a mentor to students in Research III and Advanced Clinical Reasoning. In her free time, Jill enjoys running and hiking the beautiful trails of Ithaca with her family.
