Jun Shihan (New Master) Gail Lajoie began training in Seido Karate in 1993, achieving the rank of Shodan (1st degree black belt) in 1996. In that same year, she began teaching classes for adults and children. She became a direct student of the founder of Seido Karate, Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura, in 2003, and received her 6th degree black belt in 2018.  She is the co-owner of Cayuga Lake Seido Karate in Lansing, NY.

In addition to her experience in traditional karate, Gail is also certified by the American Women's Self Defense Association as an instructor of self-defense, and by Resolution Group International in conflict resolution and ethical protection.  Since 2012, she has been teaching self-defense classes and seminars that help empower people with the physical and mental skills to keep themselves safe.

Gail has both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Music Education from Ithaca College, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Education Administration from SUNY Cortland.
