Dear Ithaca College Community,
It gives me great pleasure to announce the members of the search committee for Ithaca College’s ninth president. The committee represents the wide breadth of our Ithaca College community and possesses a rich diversity of experience and perspective. We are deeply grateful that these individuals have agreed to devote their time and wisdom to collaborating on the important process that lies ahead, and we are confident that the college is in very good hands.
Submitted on behalf of Benjamin (Ben) Rifkin, Provost/VPEA
With the departure of former Dean of H&S Leslie Lewis for the position of Provost at Goucher College, Ithaca College is embarking on a search for a new dean of the School of Humanities and Sciences. H&S faculty and staff were asked to self-nominate to serve on the search committee; the Student Government was asked to give the names of three students one of whom would be asked to serve on the committee, as well. The Provost, in consultation with the President, worked to assemble a search committee consisting of diverse individuals representing the different disciplinary areas of the School of Humanities and Sciences.
Dr. Diane Gayeski, Dean of the Park School of Communications, graciously agreed to chair the committee. AGB Search was selected to provide search and consulting services for this search and Ms. Julie Tea has been appointed as the AGB consultant working Ithaca College on this search.
