Hi! Thanks for visiting my page.
I am really excited to be living here in Ithaca, and to be working at Ithaca College in the Communication Management and Design program. My primary responsibilities at the undergraduate level are to teach classes within the corporate communication concentration:
- crisis communications
- government and stakeholder relations
- communication in international organizations
- organizational speech writing and interviewing
- organizational culture and conflict
- leadership
In addition to teaching, I am also the chair of the graduate program in Communications. As such, I teach the following graduate courses: crisis communications, diversity and organizational culture, and theoretical foundations.
In terms of research interests, my primary areas of expertise are: crisis communication, public relations, and social media/technology
On a personal note, I am most passionate about food-- the cooking and eating of it! Aside from getting my PhD, I took culinary arts classes at the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago. That was an awesome experience that I hope to continue at some point in time. On the weekends, I teach cooking classes at the YWCA in Cortland, NY.
If you are at all interested in the connection between food and communication, please check out the newly published book Food as communication/Communication as food.
