Xanthe Matychak is a designer and educator working at the intersection of design, sustainability, and technology. She created the Make Better Stuff Lab for ENVS and piloted it in the spring of 2016. In addition to teaching in ENVS, Xanthe's teaching at the Center for Business and Entrepreneurship at Wells College and in the Hardware Accelerator at REV Ithaca.
For the past two summers, Xanthe participated in meetings at The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy to explore the future of American manufacturing. She was a resident designer in the Southern Tier Hardware Accelerator in the summer of 2015. Xanthe was recently awarded over $10k in funding for her hardware project. Xanthe has shared her work at TEDx, SxSW Interactive, and World Maker Faire. She holds a MFA in Industrial Design from RIT and taught Design Thinking in the RIT Innovation Center and b.school.
