Xanthe Matychak is a designer and educator working at the intersection of design, sustainability, and technology. She is the founder of Make Better Stuff, an organization that explores the future of desktop manufacturing and distribution. Xanthe is an active member of Ithaca Generator and serves on the boards of The Sustainability Conoscente Network and The Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers.
This past summer Xanthe participated in two meetings at The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy to explore the future of American manufacturing and was a resident designer in the Southern Tier Hardware Accelerator where she developed a lamp that visualizes biological phenomenon. She has shared her work at TEDx, SxSW Interactive, and World Maker Faire. Xanthe holds a MFA in Industrial Design from RIT and taught Design Thinking in the RIT Innovation Center and b.school.
