Analyst Matt Yglesias has an interesting commentary on Yemen, Afghanistan, and terrorism: "Fighting Yemen's Terror Factory".
He concludes "people with a real understanding of defense policy, including leading counterinsurgency practitioners and theorists like Andrew Exum, say they hope the current era of counterinsurgency will end with Afghanistan".
Follow the links in that article to the articles in the Boston Review, and compare them to the articles you've read on counterinsurgency (Lieven and Record). What are your thoughts on the future of counterinsurgency stratetgy?
