Travel is an important part of my life. I have traveled extensively in the United States and have traveled internationally every year for almost 30 years. I take to heart the words of George Bernard Shaw- "I dislike feeling at home when I am abroad."

Operation Smile
In 1987, I worked with Operation Smile (http://www.operationsmile.org), an international health organization. Operation Smile organizes volunteer health care professionals to provide treatment missions to countries with medical needs. It specializes in cleft lip and palate repair.
I worked with a mission to the Philippines where we worked in both Manila and Naga City. I was one of the first Social Workers to work with Operation Smile.
