Dr. Schopp is the former Chairperson of Music and Art for the Syosset Central School District.  He served as president of the Eastern Division of MENC: The National Association for Music Education, the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) and the Nassau Music Educator Association (NMEA).  Dr. Schopp was Director of Bands for the USDAN Center for the Creative and Performing Arts and has served as a guest conductor, clinician and adjudicator for regional music festivals in the greater New York metro area. He is currently the Executive Director of the New York State School Music Association.
