Susannah Berryman has been a professional actor and acting teacher for twenty-nine years. Ithaca's Kitchen Theatre has been Susannah's long-standing artistic home, where she has performed in at least one production nearly every year since the theatre was founded. Favorite roles at the Kitchen Theatre include Winnie in Happy Days, Katherine in A Perfect Ganesh, Auntie Eileen in The Cripple of Inishmaan, and Martha in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. Hangar audiences may know Susannah from The Chalk Circle, The Diary of Anne Frank, Cabaret, or The Rainmaker. At Ithaca’s Central Casting Theatre, Susannah had the pleasure of doing ‘night, Mother with the marvelous LaVerne Light. Other regional venues include the D.C. area's Signature Theatre, the American Stage Company, The Tampa Playmakers, and as a graduate student, the Asolo State Theatre. Directing venues include Ithaca College, the Kitchen Theatre, the Cider Mill Playhouse, Central Casting, and the University of Illinois. Favorite directing projects include Dancing at Lughnasa, The Count of Monte Cristo, Holy Ghosts, and Daisy Pulls It Off. Susannah is privileged to work with terrific students and colleagues as an Associate Professor in the Ithaca College Theatre Arts Department, where she has taught since 1980. She enjoys her job every day.
