I am currently an Associate Professor for the Television and Digital Media Production degree in the Roy H. Park School of Communications. From 2012-2018 I served as the Program Director of the major.

Among the courses I teach include; Advanced Studio Production, Broadcast Performance, Senior Media Thesis, Documentary Journalism Workshop, Senior Seminar, Television Production and Direction, Introduction to Television Studio Production and Introduction to Audio Production.

Currently I am conducting qualitative research on the creation and distribution of comedic and satirical content on TikTok, YouTube and Instagram. I have over 500+ million views on my original videos across my social media accounts. On TikTok I currently have 1.5 million followers with over 37 million likes. On YouTube I have 225,000+ subscribers. I recently signed an exclusive talent representation agreement the Gold Studios out of the United Kingdom. You can find me on TikTok, YouTube and Instagram: @PeteyTVprof

I am also a co-founder TV Coaches, a consulting firm providing coaching, guidance and feedback for individuals pursuing a career in on-air broadcasting.

Additionally I am the Creator and Executive Producer of a reality TV game show entitled Assemble THIS. The concept of the show pits two couples against each other as they compete to assemble a typical frustrating household item like a bookcase or a bicycle. I hired over 30 students and used 10 HD cameras to produce 3 pilot episodes. I am pitching the concept to networks like TLC or HGTV. A crowd funding campaign was used to pay all of my students who worked on the show.

Prior to coming to Ithaca, I worked in a variety of capacities in various television stations, including as a News Anchor, Reporter and Producer as well as newscast Director. I have also extensive experience as a multi-camera Producer and Director overseeing a variety of studio and remote productions.

I received several grants from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to produce and direct nationally distributed documentaries on issues including homeless people, working poor families, struggling dairy farmers, "behind the scenes" of television news and local currency systems. I have also served as a consulting producer and editor on documentaries focusing on minority owned radio stations, the history of social change, and ethic-centric neighborhoods.

I have worked with the Duke University Center for Documentary Studies as part of it's Groundwork media initiative covering the issue of natural gas drilling and  have also worked with the Shoah Foundation Institute at the University of Southern California conducting a video ethnographic study of holocaust survivors.

I earned a Master of Science degree in Television Production from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from SUNY Cortland.
