All Music Tech courses are taught in the Music Technology classroom (JJWCM 2102). This room is equipped with 20 Macintosh workstations and a teaching station. All workstations feature a Macintosh G5 desktop computer with a 17" monitor, CD/DVD burner, MIDI keyboard, mixer, and headphones. The standard college software package includes the Microsoft Office Suite, iTunes, iMovie, iPhoto, iDVD, GarageBand, and a few standard web browsers. Software specific to the Music Tech classroom include Sibelius, Finale, Peak LE, Audacity, Reason, CuBase SE, and Logic Education.
The student Music Computer Lab is located next door to the Music Tech classroom (JJWCM 2103). This lab is equipped with 17 Macintosh workstations configured identical to the classroom workstations. In addition, one workstation has a scanner available for student use. For multimedia work, four of the Lab stations and five of the classroom stations are equipped with a VCR and monitor, and cassette deck.
The lab is staffed by student monitors and is generally open the following hours:
Monday thru Thursday: 12:00 - 5:00 and 7:00 - 11:00
Friday: 12:00 - 5:00
Saturday: 1:00 - 5:00
Sunday: 2:00 - 11:00
Composition students and students in the Recording Degree program also have separate facilities available to them.
