I am always looking for examples of why units matter. Does this sign mean that I get 6 beers for £5 or is it £6 for 5 beers.

Yet another day at the house getting work done. I stayed at the house today because it has better and seemingly more stable internet than the ICLC main building. Today is the physics department's weekly faculty meeting and the agenda contained approval of the budget and a further discussion of ways of moving the teaching load to a 3-3 load. I decided that this was an important meeting to call into.

I worked at the house through the morning and early afternoon while it poured rain outside. I then headed over to the local Carphone Warehouse to pick up a pay-as-you-go mobile phone for Anna to use when she visits. You can get a decent phone with £10 of calls plus the phone for £30. You then top us as you go. I then swung by M&S and Sainsbury to pick up a few groceries. It is easier to shop in small batches due to having to walk to and from the grocery store, and I find that fewer things go bad before I get to them.

The department meeting lasted from 17:00 hours until just after 18:00 hrs. I then cooked up a dinner of mini-beef burgers, and then did a big push to get this blog updated. I also prepped for the two day trip to the Stonehenge region tomorrow. The coach leaves the main ICLC building at 7:15 hrs, so it will be an early morning for me.
