Support of muskrat project listed below The award will provide me with necessary equipment and veterinary assistance during the research this summer and fall.

2009 Provost's Office at Ithaca College ($3300)

"Movement ecology in muskrat: The influence of personalities, social interactions, and predators". My research students and I will be radio-tracking muskrat to observe individual variation in routine, exploratory and dispersal movements. Animal movements in the field will be compared to their movements in captive tests. By also tracking mink, the predator of the muskrat, we hope to observe the spatial component of the predator-prey interactions.
