Conference Presentation
Austra in one of the churches we studied

Austra Zubkovs, a senior Television-Radio student, and I presented two papers at the Popular Culture Association conference in Boston in April, 2007. One paper was about religion and SecondLife. The other dealt with whether SecondLife was a community and the role religion played in building that community. A lot of people asked questions and were very interested in what SecondLife was and how they could use it in their research. Austra did a part of each presentation and answered questions from the audience.

This is the college generated page for Kim Gregson. I teach classes on research methods, videogames, and media planning. Occasionally I get to teach classes about videogames. In many of my classes we use a virtual world called SecondLife for our research. It's free to use, available for the Mac and the PC, and it attracts users from all over the planet.

My personal home page is at http://kgregson.com. There I have syllabi from current and past courses, research interests and projects, and a list of the links I use often that you can look at if you want to know more about me. I'm a news junkie, especially for news about the broadcast industry and new media. I'm the advisor for the Anime Society of Ithaca College and for the college's online magazine called iMPrint.
