Physics 305: Electromagnetism

Physics 305 will cover advanced topics in electricity and magnetism.  A solid knowledge of vector calculus is paramount.  We will review the key mathematical concepts as presented in the first chapter of Griffiths.  This course will emphasize analytical problem solving skills, introduce Matlab as a computational tool, and further your intuition regarding electromagnetic phenomena.

Success in this course will require active participation in class, a thorough study of the material (class notes and reading the book), and thoughtful preparation of the homework exercises.  Keeping on top of your work will be essential.  I encourage you to use your peers and me as resources to help develop your understanding of the material, while still maintaining responsibility for the final preparation of any submitted work.
