Justine Vosloo joined the department of Exercise and Sport Science in 2010.  As a scholar, researcher and educator in the field of sport psychology, Dr. Vosloo focuses on understanding and advancing the practice of mental performance coaching, through culturally and evidence-informed practice in sport and exercise performance settings. This includes advancing the science of mental performance practice and interventions, fostering effective coach-athlete interactions, and building inclusive and high performing team and leadership climates. Within her courses, she teaches undergraduate and graduate students how the mind influences the body to optimize the performances of athletes and exercisers at all ages, abilities and levels. This includes training graduate students in the practice of Mental Performance Coaching, and mentoring them (as part of the CMPC requirements) in their MP coaching with with intercollegiate student athletes at Ithaca College and beyond. 

As a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology, she also provides mentoring to  professionals working towards the CMPC credential - the premier credential in the mental performance field. Dr. Vosloo is also the owner and lead consultant of her own private practice as a Mental Performance Coach, and has 17 years of experience working in the field with athletes, teams and coaches ranging from the youth to professional/Olympic levels. 

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing and watching tennis, playing guitar, hiking, swimming and photography.
