Jean Sutherland has been at Ithaca College since 1985, teaching a variety of introductory level courses. Most recently, she has taught Introduction to Literature, Introduction to Fiction, and Introduction to the Short Story. Before coming to IC, she taught at Iowa State University, the University of Cincinnati, and Duke University, where she did her graduate work. Her primary field is early twentieth century British literature, but she is also interested in detective fiction, non-linear narratives, and multi-volume works. Her current project is editing a collection of nineteenth century letters.
