Developmental & Educational Psychology Team (Research Team 13)
This is not a your typical kind of course. In our team we work cooperatively to help local organizations find out answers to developmental/educational related questions or help them assess their educational programs. There are no exams and very few lectures. I assume that if I can find something out that I don't know so can you; therefore high levels of responsibility, initiative and self-directed learning are expected.
Throughout three semester, students in our research team are responsible for 1) writing human subject proposals and protocols, 2) developing surveys and interview questions; 3) writing literature reviews and planning methodology 4) collecting data, usually in the Ithaca Community area; and 5) reporting results both at conferences and the community organizations we work with.
Important Note:
If you are interested in joining our team, contact me jpenaper@ithaca.edu to schedule an interview. You can also review what current team members say about our team so you become more aware of what we do and our expectations.
