Candace Nomides, a graduate physical therapy student, contributed a podium presentation to the scientific content of the 12th annual Gait and Clinical Movement Analysis Society meeting held in Springfield, MA, April 14th, 2007.

The Gait and Clinical Movement Analysis Society is an international society that promotes the study of abnormal movement in subjects with joint and neurological problems. Candace (middle) completed a 9 month long project evaluating the ankle strength of subjects with posterior tibial tendonitis at the Ithaca College Movement Analysis Laboratory in Rochester, NY. This study establishes a novel method of testing strength for these individuals. The results suggest this novel strength testing protocol will be useful in clinical trials that are currently underway as part of Chris Neville's (left) doctoral studies in Rochester . Candace's participation was made possible by a grant from the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society obtained by Dr. Houck (right). Candace will complete her Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree in September of 2007. Please join me in congratulating Candace on a job well done!
