Clinical Movement Analysis

Dr. Houck works with therapist, orthopedic surgeons and biomedical engineers to study the biomechanics that cause common orthopedic disroders. The Ithaca College Movement Analysis Laboratory is at the cutting edge of current biomedical research. Students and faculty collaborate on clinically oriented projects that address current issues related to orthopedic medicine.

Jeff Houck, PT, PhD graduated from the Medical College of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree in the summer of 1987. After graduation, Dr. Houck worked primarily in orthopedic physical therapy practices in Minnesota, Michigan and Iowa. In 1993, Dr. Houck traveled to Japan to work as a physical therapist in an orthopedic practice. After returning to the United States, Dr. Houck entered graduate school at the University of Iowa in 1994 and completed a Doctorate in Philosophy of Physical Therapy in December of 1999. Currently, Dr. Houck continues to publish research projects related to the biomechanics of movement and integrates the most current research into his teaching curriculum. Teaching responsibilities include Human Anatomy (670-31000), Research I (671-60700), Research II (671-60800) and Clinical Science I - Orthopedics (671-61300).
