Summer 2008

  • Conducted the final concert of the 07-08 season with the St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic in May in St. Petersburg.
  • The only American to make it to the final 7 contestants (from more than 100 initial competitors) in the Cadaques International Conducting Competition in June.
  • Taught and performed (as both pianist and conductor) at the LSM Academy and Festival in Minnesota for four weeks in June and July.
  • Debuted with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, the national orchestra of the Philippines.
  • Taught and performed (as both pianist and conductor) for two weeks at Opusfest, an international piano chamber music festival in the Philippines

2008 International Conducting Competition "Antonio Pedrotti, Trento, Italy, 9/24/08-10/5/08. There were preliminary auditions for this competition in 5 countries to select the approximately 40 conductors that would be accepted into the competition. Combined Concert: IC Symphony Orchestra and the Cornell Symphony Orchestra, Jeffery Meyer and Chris Kim, conductors. Holst: "The Planets". Concert is part of the annual meeting of the Division for Planetary Sciences of the American Astronomical Society and will include projected images from the recent Mars Rover missions. Water City Chamber Orchestra season opening concert.
