Joshua Bonnetta is an interdisciplinary artist working with film, video and sound in various modes of theatrical exhibition, performance and installation. His work has shown at the Toronto International Film Festival, The Images Festival, Mutek International Festival of Electronic Music, Exis Festival, Rotterdam International Film Festival, 25 fps Festival, Anthology Film Archives and at festivals and venues through out Europe, U.K., Russia, North & South America. He was the 2009 recipient of the National Film Board of Canada award to 'Best emerging/mid-career Canadian filmmaker' for his animation work 'Parting' from the Images Festival. In 2012 he was selected to be an 'Electroacoustic Composer in Residence' at the Visby International Centre for Composers on the island of Gotland, Sweden. His new work American Colour will have its international premiere at the Berlin Film Festival in February with exhibitions of installation and performance work in Melbourne, Toronto, Vancouver and Winnipeg to follow throughout the year. Bonnetta received a BFA in Film & Video Production from York University and an MFA in Studio Arts (Film Production) from Concordia University.
