Academic Writing I: Science Seminar (WRTG-108000-02) teaches the writing and critical skills necessary to perform well across the college curriculum, but its content, theme, and approach meet the special needs of first-year science majors. Class readings and assignments bridge the natural sciences and the humanites and draw parallels between academic writing and the scientific method. This year's seminar (Sir Francis Bacon and the Scientific Revolution) examines science's impact on thinking and writing in the early Enlightenment.
