Anne Theobald completed her M.A. and Ph.D. in French literature at the University of Wisconsin-Madison after graduating egregia cum laude from the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota.  She taught as an assistante d'anglais in Burgundy after college and studied as a fellow at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, while writing her dissertation.  Her research interests include the novel and theater of seventeenth-century France and second language acquisition.
